  • Is it true that the Iroquois Nation fought against other Iroquois tribes?

Yes, as it was with the American Civil War, Native tribes often fought amongst themselves; the Ohio Seneca were forced to migrate West, and join the Mingo Indians so they would survive a battle between them and their Eastern brethren.  It was not uncommon for one village to fight against its neighbors.  The advantages of being a sedentary tribe is evident in the Iroquois' agriculture, and the fortified agglomerations of longhouses surrounded by long wooden stake fences that formed their villages.
